Born at York WA, RC. Enlisted 2 August 1915 age 18, farm labourer. Nok mother, Rosina McDonald of Forrest St, (River side) Cottesloe Beach. Embarked at Fremantle 2 November 1915 per RMS Mongolia. Wounded in action in France on 5 September 1916. Wounded a second time in France on 14 October 1917. Rejoined his unit in France on 10 August 1918 and wounded a third time on 16 August 1918. RTA April 1919 per A68 Anchises and discharged 3 June 1919. Service medals: 1914-1915 Star, BWM and VM.
